Club Heaven and Hell
Type: Bar
Having emerged when Adams Morgan was still running around in diapers, Club Heaven and Hell remains one of the more popular spots in the area. Here visitors can get dual tastes of afterlife fun: a happening dance club upstairs (Heaven) and a more typical college bar setting on the lower floor (Hell…naturally). And now newly renovated with an upscale, yet laid back vibe (and brand new bathrooms, ladies!), Heaven is ready for plenty of new souls…especially for their legendary 80’s Dance Party every Thursday night.

80's Dance Party left H&H in 2008, as reported by the Washington Post's Going Out guide. The club agreed at that time not to use the name "80's Dance Party" or "80's Night," you can see the details of this agreement at www.80sdanceparty.com/itsnottheirname It would be great if the club would honor this agreement that they made in good faith. They can do whatever they want, play whatever music, but they can't use a name for which they don't have the rights, which they agreed not to use, suggesting by doing so that the team that originally presented the event there are still there and that its the same event (we're not and it's not). That's the issue, the only issue, and it's always been the only issue. Mehari and Steve can make this all go away by doing the right thing. They're already most of the way there, just take down that banner and put up an accurate one. You don't see The Black Cat still using the name "Bliss" now that the event has moved, do you? Respectable clubs like The Cat get respect in the scene by not taking credit for other people's ideas & not trying to deceive their patrons. Credibility and reputation actually do mean something, and H&H can get some by voluntarily doing the right thing. We haven't used THEIR name since we left, as per the agreement. Fair is fair. -Neal- www.80sdanceparty.com
